Прямая металлическая крыша центра будет служить второй цели, помимо укрытия: она представляет собой форму воронки для сбора дождевой воды для местного населения. Тем временем снаружи будет возводиться древесный питомник и огород.
Центр, построенный организацией Hassell и LocalWorks, дизайн-студией, расположенной в столице Уганды Кампале, представляет собой редкий пример архитектурного новшества, посвященного искусству в перемещенных лицах. И оно могло бы послужить примером для новых поселков.
Ксавье Де Кестелье, руководитель глобального отдела дизайна в Hassell, провозгласил, что он думает, что центр станет толчком для огромного количества таких новшеств.
